Children's Home
The Sri Sathya Sai Bal Ashram Bharatpur was opened by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Council Nepal on the occasion of the celebration of the eighty-fifth birthday of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It was inaugurated on 1 January, 2010.
Located in Bharatpur, Chitwan, the children’s home was established with the following objectives in mind:
- To provide food, clothing, and shelter to orphaned children.
- To provide education to the underprivileged.
- To provide them with necessary medical services.
- To inculcate in them spiritual values in keeping with the philosophy of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and also to encourage them to participate in spiritual acitivities.
- To rehabilitate those children who have completed their studies or have grown beyond the age limit of the ashram.

Children between the ages of four and eighteen are eligible for admission to the Bal Ashram. The decision as to their eligibility in terms of age, gender, etc. are left to the Working Committee, which is headed by the chairperson of the Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Bharatpur, and consists of ten other members, some nominated and others officiating.
An Operating Council oversees the activities of the Working Committee, and also drafts the necessary rules and provides guidelines for the operations of the same.
